Dubai: India remained Dubai International Airport’s largest country market, accounting for nearly 12 million passengers in 2025.
Dubai International Airport retained its position as the world’s busiest airport for international travel last year, with a record 95.2 million passengers passing through its terminals, as the emirate continued its economic expansion. Mumbai and New Delhi were among the airport’s busiest city destinations, underlining India’s central role in Dubai’s global network. In a statement, the airport said its scale, connectivity and operational consistency had reinforced its standing as one of the world’s most globally connected airports, linking hundreds of destinations across every major region. Its ability to handle sustained high volumes while maintaining service quality has positioned Dubai International not merely as a transit hub but as a key gateway for global travel, trade and economic exchange.
The airport served 108 airlines operating flights to 291 cities in 110 countries last year. A real estate boom and record tourism numbers have made Dubai a destination in its own right as well as a major layover hub, with Indians playing a significant role in the traffic.
