Hyderabad: India have been fined 10 per cent of their match fee for maintaining a slow over-rate against Australia in the third Women’s One-Day International in New Delhi on Saturday.

G S Lakshmi of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees imposed the sanction after India were found to be two overs short of the target once time allowances were considered.

Under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur pled guilty to the offence and accepted the sanction, meaning a formal hearing was not required.

On-field umpires Lauren Agenbag and Janani Narayanan, along with third umpire Gayathri Venugopalan and fourth umpire Vrinda Rathi, levelled the charge.
