Kerala's COVID-19 tally crossed the grim milestone of two lakh on Thursday as the state reported 8,135 fresh cases, while the death toll climbed to 771 with 29 more fatalities.

There are  9,42,217 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country which comprises 14.74 per cent of the total caseload.

The state now has 11,482 active coronavirus cases, while 72,461 people have been cured of the disease so far.

The family has expressed suspicion that she was killed after sexual assault. However, rape can only be confirmed after the post-mortem report.
