Hyderabad: Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (BIACH&RI) on Friday launched a digital radiography machine ‘FDR SMART F’, Fujifilm’s latest high-quality and cost-effective x-ray system for its cancer patients.
The new facility, which was inaugurated by Chairman, BIACH&RI, Nandamuri Balakrishna, is capable of taking 200 x-rays within 8 hours, which allows the hospital to serve more number of patients in a day.
The radiography machine is capable of producing high end digital imagery that will enhance the diagnostic capability of medical experts. Further it also releases very low dose of radiation during the imaging process thus reducing the radiation exposure to the patient undergoing the test, the hospital in a statement said.
Dr.K.Veeraiah Chowdhary, HOD, Radiology said that new machine will enhance the capacity of the radiology wing thus allowing it to cater to large number of patients in a single day. The radiology wing had recently also introduced a 3D Digital Mammography machine.
Dr RV Prabhakar Rao, CEO, BIACH&RI, Dr TS Rao, Medical Director, Dr K Veeraiah Chowdhary, Head, Radiology and other senior doctors were present.
