Nirmal: Forest Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy said that a medical oxygen plant was created on the premises of district headquarters hospital to address the shortage of the gas. He formally inaugurated the plant here on Tuesday.

Indrakaran stated that the shortage of oxygen resulted in deaths of patients with respiratory-related ailments and during the second wave of infections of Covid-19. He said that the facility was created at an estimated cost of Rs 1 crore at the hospital to avoid the inconvenience.

The Minister further said that the plant would be able to produce sufficient oxygen needed for the patients who depend on the district headquarters hospital for medical services. He added that the oxygen would be given directly to patients after purifying the cylinders by special technology. He stated that the plant could manufacture 500 litres of oxygen per minute.

Indrakaran thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for granting and releasing the funds of Rs 48.83 crore for the upgradation of the hospital. He opined that the facility would be able to cater to the needs of the people of the district. The Minister also performed ‘ksheerabhisekam’ to the portrait of the Chief Minister.

He said the Telangana diagnosis hub was created at the hospital by spending Rs 3.3 crore. He cautioned that stringent action would be taken against the authorities of the Medical and Health department if they don’t maintain time management. Zilla Parishad Chairperson K Vijyalaxmi, Mudhole MLA G Vittal Reddy, Collector Musharraf Ali Faruqui, municipal chairperson Gandrath Eshwar and many others were present.
