Forest Minister Indrakaran Reddy at a review meeting on Covid-19 situation in Adilabad on Thursday.
Adilabad/Nirmal: Forest Minister Indrakaran Reddy instructed officials on Thursday to take preventive measures to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the district. He convened a review meeting with district administration over measures, tests, hospital management, treatment facilities and containment zones in Adilabad.
Indrakaran stated that the tally of positive cases and deaths caused by the virus had reduced due to efforts being made by the government. He said that mortality rate had declined in the country when individuals started getting the second dose of vaccination. He added that the dose helped many stay healthy.
The Minister directed the officials to ensure sufficient supply of oxygen in all hospitals. He wanted them to take steps for selling Remdesivir at maximum retail price. He told them to step up vigil on flow of patients belonging to Maharashtra into hospitals of Adilabad, resulting in unavailability of medical services to local patients. He sought cooperation of public in tackling the disease.
Indrakaran, earlier, laid a foundation stone for a road to be laid from Gajulapet to Aluru in Nirmal town, at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crore. He said that roads in the town were widened, dividers were created and traffic snarls were reduced. He stated that the town was undergoing an unprecedented makeover.
Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Rathod Janardhan, Boath MLA Rathod Bapu Rao, In-charge Collector Rahul Raj and in-charge SP M Rajesh Chandra were present.
