Hyderabad: Digital resilience and transformation are at different levels in different organisations. Industry is now looking at digital parity and to be future-ready, every organisation needs to look at agile platforms that are device, location and time agnostic. Companies also need to invest significantly in communication platforms to meet the changing needs, says a Unisys official.
A latest study by Unisys in collaboration with IDC, reveals that across the globe, almost 40 per cent of the workforce was forced to shift to remote ways of working almost overnight, while the remaining 60 per cent continued to adapt and find new, safer ways to do their jobs.
Ram Bhattiprolu, director, Delivery, Unisys India, told Telangana Today, “While large businesses invested in technology, medium scale businesses are required to look at leasing virtual machines to keep the digitisation costs low and take other measures towards digitisation.”
He emphasised, “It has also become important for organisations of all sizes to invest significantly on cyber security as the threats are increasing. The perimeter of security has changed during Covid as people shifted to all types of devices while working remotely.”
User experience
On June 3, Unisys Corporation entered into an agreement to acquire Unify Square, an experience management provider for secure collaboration and communications platforms, for $152.5 million on a cash-free and debt-free basis. “The acquisition will enable Unisys to leverage Unify Square’s Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) offerings to help advance its experience-focused digital workplace services solution set,” he added.
Organisations often focus on deploying modern tools, but the operating model tends to be IT-centric with traditional service-level agreements (SLAs) for measuring performance, rather than focusing on measuring employee experience. With the Unify Square’s platform, companies can assess, analyse and improve employee experience across multiple platforms while enhancing IT operational performance with real-time analytics.
Bhattiprolu said, “End-user experience management has evolved as a key factor today. The workspaces need to be more collaborative, intelligent and modern device-friendly.” The companies also need to take stock of how they handled digital transformation in the last 15 months and plan their future strategy based on their learnings, he noted.
Unisys India is a strategic global delivery centre for Unisys Corporation, with multiple facilities spread over Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
