Hyderabad: Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar’s sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the country. The Kannada superstar was admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru on Friday morning after complaining of severe chest pain. Dr Ranganath Nayak, who was treating the actor, had informed that he was immediately taken into the ICU as he was brought in a critical condition.
Several sources have now confirmed that Puneeth Rajkumar is no more as he suffered a massive heart attack. The actor was just 46. Puneeth, who appeared in over 29 Kannada films, was fondly called Appu by his fans.
Photos and videos of fans getting emotional in front of Vikram Hospital went viral.
Puneeth was active on social media today. He had tweeted early in the morning, “Best wishes for the entire team of #Bhajarangi2 @NimmaShivanna @NimmaAHarsha @JayannaFilms.”
Actor Pooja Hegde was one of the many actors who expressed her shock on social media. She tweeted, “Cannot believe what I’m hearing. Life is so unpredictable. Such a big loss for Indian Cinema. Sending out loads of love and light to his family and loved ones in these difficult times. R.I.P Puneeth Rajkumar.”
R Madhavan wrote, “GONE- one of our KINDEST, NICEST AND NOBLE soul. I don’ know what I am feeling. I am feeling so devastated. Brother you have left us very confused and heartbroken. The heavens are brighter today. I am still hoping this is not true.” Actor Siddharth penned,” I cannot process this. Cannot believe you’ve left us Puneeth. Kind, gifted, fearless…so much to give to the world. This is not fair brother. Heartbroken.”
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, “Apart from the shocking tragedy that @PuneethRajkumar’s sudden death is, it is also a scary and terrifying eye opening truth that any of us can die anytime. So it is best to live life on a fast forward mode, while we are still alive.”
