Siddipet: Braving 44 degrees C, 1,500 BRS workers launched a padayatra from Siddipet to Warangal, where the party is organising its 25th foundation day celebrations on April 27.

Former Minister T Harish Rao flagged off the rally and said the party cadres launched the padayatra inspired by former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s cycle yatra in 2001, which was seen as the beginning of the 14-year battle for achieving Telangana Statehood.

Harish said the BRS cadres from Siddipet will act as a source of inspiration to bring back the party to power.

He and the cadres observed a two-minute silence in memory of the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

The former Minister suggested the party cadre to educate the people on the failures of the Congress government along the padyatra.

He said Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s goverment failed to keep its poll promises and denied Rythu Bharosa, loan waiver and many other schemes to the people.

They will reach Warangal by walking 70 km on April 27. He said the BRS will stay with the people even in defeats and victories to serve them.

Harish assured the cadre of providing all facilities during the yatra. They displayed a 25-m-long party flag to mark the silver jubilee celebrations.
