Siddipet: Depressed over his failure in the intermediate board examinations, Chakali Sairam (17) died by suicide by hanging at his residence at Mangalparthi in Veldurthi mandal on Sunday, hours after the results were announced.
Sairam, son of Sailu and Nagamani, had studied intermediate first year in the CEC group at a private college in Hyderabad. He was shocked after he failed in two subjects when he checked the results online on Sunday morning.
He is suspected to have taken the extreme step fearing his parents’ response. Sairam was alone at home as his parents were busy making arrangements for his elder sister’s marriage, which is scheduled in a week’s time. The incident left the family in grief and they decided to postpone the marriage.
