Khammam: An Intermediate first-year student who died by suicide out of fear that he would fail in the examinations cleared the exams.
The deceased, Gangadevulla Akshanth of Rampalli village in Bonakal mandal, had recently appeared for his Intermediate first-year examinations. However, he was deeply distressed, believing that he had not performed well in the exams.
Consequently, two days ago, he died by suicide by jumping before a speeding train at Madhira. Ironically, when the results, released by the Intermediate Board on Sunday, were checked, it was found that he had passed in all subjects.
Akshanth secured 347 marks out of 470 in his first year, passing with a ‘B’ Grade. His parents are now inconsolable, saying that Akshanth took his own life out of a baseless fear of failure before the actual results were declared.
