Isha Gramotsavam to unite 80,000 rural athletes across India
The 18th edition of Isha Gramotsavam, accredited by Khelo India, will unite over 80,000 participants from 40,000 villages across 10 states and Puducherry. With a prize pool of Rs 1 crore, the rural sports festival will host volleyball and throwball competitions across Telangana in July, culminating in a grand finale at the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore, from September 4–6.

Hyderabad: The 18th edition of Isha Gramotsavam, one of India’s largest rural sports festivals, is expected to bring together more than 80,000 participants from over 40,000 villages across 10 states and one Union Territory.
Accredited by Khelo India, this year’s tournament will feature over 7,000 teams, including around 15,000 women participants and offer a total prize pool of Rs.1 crore across various stages of the competition.
Organised by Isha Outreach under its Action for Rural Rejuvenation initiative, the tournament will be conducted across Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Puducherry.
The festival in Telangana is bringing together rural communities through the spirit of sports and teamwork. On July 18 and 19, volleyball and throwball matches will be held across the Jangaon, Karimnagar, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, and Khammam clusters.
In the second phase on July 25 and 26, volleyball matches will be conducted in the Jagtial, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nizamabad, and Rangareddy clusters. The Mahabubnagar, Medak, Sangareddy, and Warangal clusters will host both volleyball and throwball competitions on July 25. Meanwhile, throwball matches are scheduled for July 26 in the Nalgonda and Rajanna Sircilla clusters.
The winning teams advance to the Grand Finale, scheduled to be held from September 4 to 6 at the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore. Registrations are now open and eligible players can register at isha.co/gramotsavam.
