Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy said the Congress party flag in the next Assembly elections would be hoisted first in Bhupalpally Assembly constituency.

Revanth Reddy was addressing a public meeting where Gandra Satyanarayana Rao from TRS joined the Congress. “Time has come to fulfil the aspirations of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, who was instrumental in formation of Telangana State,” he said.

Singareni workers’ fundamental rights were violated by the TRS government and the problems being faced by the people in Bhupalpally continue to persist, he alleged.

Despite people electing the TRS to power for two terms, many issues like unemployment and Podu lands were yet to be addressed, he said, adding: “Did 1,200 youngsters commit suicide for such welfare and development?”

Alleging that Bhupalpally MLA Gandra Venkataramana Reddy was involved in many irregularities, he said: “Venkataramana won elections due to the untiring efforts put in by Congress party workers but he betrayed the party and joined TRS.”

Meanwhile, Congress worker Goli Satyanarayana, a resident of Srirampur, who was heading to the venue, died in a road accident. The TPCC president announced Rs 3 lakh assistance to his family.
