Hyderabad: Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao slammed the BJP government at the Centre for running a government of ‘conspiracy’ and not a democratic one meant for the people. “Those who speak against the BJP, its leaders or the union government are being sent notices by enforcement agencies like the CBI, ED and IT,” he said and challenged the BJP leaders to send him to jail if they have any evidence.

Speaking at the ‘Maha Dharna’ organised by TRS at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday, Chandrashekhar Rao said people who speak against the BJP government at the Centre were being harassed and bulldozed. The Opposition leaders are being slapped with notices from CBI, ED and IT, apart from conducting raids on their properties. “Is the BJP full of Satya Harishchandras? All those supporting the BJP are being spared by the Central agencies while those who question the party are being targeted,” he said.

Responding to the claims of Telangana BJP leaders that they would send the Chief Minister to jail soon, Chandrashekhar Rao asked them to do so. “Some dogs are barking back in Telangana and threatening to send me to jail. I dare them. I have faced many such threats and will not get intimidated by them,” he stated.

Attacking the BJP and the Central government ruled by the party for making contradictory statements on paddy procurement, the Chief Minister pointed out that the Centre had asked the State government to shift from paddy and promote crop diversification during Yasangi (Rabi) season. “The State was implementing the Centre’s advice but union Minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP State president Bandi Sanjay instigated farmers to cultivate paddy with the assurance that they would ensure procurement of the entire yield. But today, they have just disappeared and are not coming forward to own up to their promises,” he said. Rao also questioned the BJP leaders in Hyderabad for staging a protest on a day when TRS leaders are sitting on dharna in the national capital over paddy procurement. “They should be ashamed of themselves for resorting to politics of conspiracy,” he said, adding that the TRS worked for the development of Telangana for all these years and would now work for the development of the country.
