Hyderabad: Reliance Jio has established itself as India’s digital giant, leading the 5G market, as well as wireless data consumption. Jio had deployed over one million 5G cells – more than 80% of the nation’s 5G infrastructure – and its user base increased to more than 191 million, and accounted for nearly 45% of the wireless data traffic in India.
According to a recent report from ICICI Securities, Jio commands unrivalled ability to monetise 5G services, with unlimited data consumption and the growth of fiber to the Home (FTTH) for large enterprise customers. Jio reported close to 200 Exabytes of annual information transmission moving 20% YoY, indicating that India uses more data than any other tech-enabled country in the world, including China.
For Q4 FY25, Jio had 6.1 million gross new subscribers, increased ARPU to 206 Rupees (13.5% YoY change), and they will continue gaining traction in the FTTH. Fixed wireless is playing a crucial role with the JioAirFiber, for scaling digital connectivity in different digital corridors including in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
