Hyderabad: Telangana School’s Technical College’s Employees Association (TSTCEA) urged the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) to focus on the matter of salary disbursement to faculty members during the inspections of the colleges for affiliations.
The association wanted the JNTU-H to do a thorough physical verification before granting affiliation to colleges under its ambit. It also wanted the university to ensure the managements to pay salaries to faculty with dues before extending the affiliation.
In a letter to the university on Thursday, TSTCEA president A Santhosh Kumar alleged, “At least 69 colleges affiliated to the university have not been paying salaries regularly to their employees for the last 16 months. A few of them produced fake Form 16 and Form 26AS, while some college managements paid salaries to faculty and later retrieved the same.”
There was a need for an enquiry with every employee of the colleges on the salary matter, he said and urged the university to focus on the salary disbursement in the present inspections and scrutiny report.
