Hyderabad: A four-member gang that duped job aspirants by assuring outsourcing and contract jobs in government departments was caught by the Rachakonda Special Operations Team on Wednesday. The police seized Rs. 5.70 lakh, 24 fake job appointment orders, 53 fake rubber stamps and other material from them.
The arrested persons were identified as M Vara Kumar, Y Pramod Kumar, Vennu Dinakar Reddy and V Prakash. They were involved in three criminal cases registered at Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram and Meerpet police station limits.
“The gang identified job aspirants and convinced them saying that they could arrange jobs for them in the government sector. After collecting money from them, they offered fake job letters and duped them,” Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat said.
The gang prepared several rubber stamps of various government officials and endorsed the fake letters using it to convince the people that the letter was genuine. “After collecting the appointment letters, the victims verified it and came to know that the letters were fake and approached the police. Cases were booked and the gang members identified and arrested,” the Commissioner said.
The gang was caught previously for similar offences. The police during preliminary enquiries found the gang had collected over Rs. 21 lakh from different persons with similar fake promises.
