Adilabad: Former minister and BRS leader Jogu Ramanna on Sunday alleged that the Congress government had failed to ensure at least 12 hours of uninterrupted power supply to the agriculture sector.
Ramanna submitted a representation to district electricity officer Jadhav Subhash, urging him to take steps to ensure adequate power supply for agricultural needs in the district.
He alleged that farmers were facing difficulties due to unscheduled power outages and said interruptions were threatening crops with withering. He accused the government of neglecting the agriculture sector and failing to address the need for power transformers.
Ramanna said the previous BRS government had provided 24-hour power supply to the agriculture sector and opposed the installation of meters for agricultural connections.
He further alleged that electricity officials were under pressure from the government to show incorrect power consumption figures. Ramanna said the BRS would continue to support farmers.
