Journaling: An art of writing down your thoughts and emotions as raw as you want it to be. A tool to help you understand yourself at a deeper level so that you can work on your personal growth.
It can do wonders for your mental health, providing you with an ingenious, cathartic release allowing you to liberate yourself of daily stress. Also allows you to look back on your journey to reflect on personal patterns of behaviour, progression and how you’ve overcome challenges that once set you back.
At first, taking control of your thoughts may feel difficult, but it’ll begin to feel natural with practice. Journaling daily can help you get rid of negative thoughts by helping you shift your perspective- your problems might not look so large and unmanageable anymore.
Tips for Journaling:
- Your journal entries don’t have to be in a structure. Start the way you like.
- Keep the momentum going!
- Make it a judgment-free zone.
- When confused-close your eyes-take three deep breaths. Focus. You can start with “I feel..” or “I want..” or “I think..” “At the moment..” or “Right now..”
- Discover your voice. Give it a try!
