Hyderabad: A two-Judge Bench of the Telangana High Court comprising Justice Ujjal Bhuvan and Justice C Sumalatha on Thursday remanded to the Co-operative Tribunal for fresh adjudication of the dispute relating to the no-confidence motion against Murali Mukund, secretary of the managing committee of the Jubilee Hills Co-Operative Society. The managing committee of the Society, headed by its president, is entangled in a legal battle with Murali Mukund. While the secretary alleged irregularities by the managing committee, similar allegations were made by the latter against the former. When the managing committee removed Mukund from the service, he challenged it before the Co-Operative Tribunal which directed his continuance. A single Judge of the High Court suspended the order on the ground that it was in the nature of a final order and necessary parties were not before the tribunal. Against the said interim order, the parties were in appeal before the division Bench. The Bench directed the CTA to reopen the matter and hear it afresh. The panel remanded the matter to the Tribunal for hearing on Monday.
PCB asked to file counter A two-judge Bench comprising Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice A Rajasekar Reddy on Thursday directed Mines and Geology Department and the Telangana Pollution Control Board to file a counter explaining their stance in a PIL pertaining to issuing quarry leases which could be detrimental to the lives of locals, cattle and the properties around the area. One Uchitha Veeraiah file a PIL against Mines and Geology Department, Telangana, Pollution Control Board and Pujitha Quarry and five others requesting to revoke quarry leases issued to stone crushers for extracting minor minerals. The matter has been adjourned to December 30 for further hearing.
Fencing selection Justice B Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court directed the Sports Authority of Telangana to issue directions regarding the selection process for the sport of fencing. In a petition, one A Mahesh sought directions to the Sports Authority of Telangana for not sponsoring the selected teams to the Fencing Association of India for participating in the National Fencing Championship 2021-22. The Judge observed that there is rampant corruption during the selection process in all forms of sports which leads to efficient players not being on the national teams. The court directed the Sports Authority of Telangana to issue necessary directions within 2 days.
