Hyderabad: Renowned Indian archer Jyothi Surekha Vennam has been selected to represent India in the 2026 Asian Games, marking her fourth appearance after previously participating in 2014, 2018, and 2022.
The 29-year-old, Vijayawada-based Surekha has already made a remarkable impact in the Asian Games, securing three gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal across her appearances.
With these achievements, she stands as the second-highest medal-winning Indian woman in Asian Games history after the legendary P. T. Usha.
And for the record, Surekha has a record number of 11 gold, seven silver, eight bronze in World Cups, one gold in World championship besides five silver and three bronze.
