Hyderabad: Devotees in large numbers thronged the Balkampet Yellamma temple for the annual Kalyanam festivities that began here on Tuesday.
The State government has put in place elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the festivities. After ‘Edurukolu’, the kalyanotsavam began in a grand manner while the Rathotsavam will be held on Wednesday.
Last year, the festivities were restricted in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, following the instructions of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to organise the kalyanotsavam on a grand scale this year, all departments have been making necessary arrangements at the Balkampet Yellamma temple.
Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav held a series of review meetings with officials on the arrangements. Barricades have been set up to ensure a comfortable and orderly darshan for devotees and line departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and address issues of roads and sanitation.
