Hyderabad: Director Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan has made her space in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema and is now set to make her debut in Hindi cinema.
However, the actor will not be launched by her father Priyadarshan.
“She is a very clear-headed young woman. Knows exactly what she wants, and what she doesn’t. And she certainly doesn’t want me to launch her. When Kalyani decided to be an actor she had only one ground-rule for herself: she won’t be launched by her father,” filmmaker Priyadarshan said as quoted by ‘Spotboye’.
“I could have made a dozen films for her, launched her in style in the South. She chose to be launched in an outside production in the Telugu film ‘Hello’. Produced by Nagarjuna, the film features his son Akhil Akkineni with Kalyani.”
He says the same follows even in Bollywood. “She wants to be launched in an outside film. And I respect that. She feels success feels better when achieved without her family’s professional support. And I agree.”
Meanwhile, Kalyani Priyadarshan has recently wrapped up Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran’s second directorial ‘Bro Daddy’ with Mohanlal. The film also stars Prithviraj, Mallika Sukumaran, Meena, Lalu Alex, Murali Gopy, Kaniha and Soubin in prominent roles. Prithviraj’s first directorial ‘Lucifer’ was a hit and received praises from across industries.
Kalyani and Mohanlal recently also shared some fitness goals together. The actor took to Instagram to share a photo of herself and Mohanlal. In the picture, the two can be seen flexing their biceps in a gymnasium. “His warm-up alone was my entire workout,” wrote Kalyani alongside the photo
