Kamareddy: District Collector A Sharat on Tuesday unveiled the annual credit plan for Kamareddy district with an outlay of Rs 4,778 crore for 2021-22 of which the share for the priority sector was Rs 4,373 crore.

Sharat, who chaired the district coordination committee meeting at the Collectorate office with senior officials and representatives from banks, said Rs 3,776 crore was allocated for the agriculture sector while Rs 2,428 crore towards farm loans while Rs 156 crore has been earmarked for developing agriculture infrastructure.

While Rs 463 crore was allocated for the micro, small and medium enterprises, Rs 32 crore was allocated for education and Rs 95 crore for the housing sector. Sharat asked the officials to extend necessary help to farmers in getting loans to them on time as monsoon has already set in.

“It is the responsibility of officials to arrange loans to farmers in coordination with the bank officials. At the same time, officials should also extend services at the field level for renewing their previous loans taken by farmers,” he said.

He advised officials and representatives of various banks to conduct awareness meetings at Rythu Vedikas and explained to farmers that they should pay only four per cent of interest if they repay the loan amount within a year.

Reviewing the progress achieved in 2020-21, he said that farm loans of Rs 1,525 crore were given out of Rs 2,267 crore that was allocated and for self-help groups and MEPMA groups, Rs 478 crore and Rs 28.20 crore respectively were disbursed. Financial assistance was also given to 4,901 street vendors.
