BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar along with other public representatives and government officials celebrated the event by cutting a cake and distributing sweets in the collectorate auditorium here on Wednesday.

On this occasion, the Minister felicitated doctors and other officials who played a vital role in the vaccination process. Kamalakar presented Rs 5 lakh worth gifts to each of five Primary Health Centers. The Minister appreciated doctors, ANMs and ASHA workers for administering the second dose of vaccine to 100 per cent of people. He called upon the district administration to take steps to check the spread of the third weave of coronavirus.

The Minister dedicated the district’s achievement to the Chief Minister. Advising the people not to be scared of Covid, he said people should go ahead by taking precautionary measures. The State government was working with a prime agenda of public health. Karimnagar district, which used to be an unstable area, was going ahead on all fronts. Irrigable water is being supplied to more than 1 crore acres of land by completing Kaleshwram project, he informed. Zilla Parishad chairperson Kanumalla Vijaya, MLC Padi Koushik Reddy, Collector RV Karnan and others participated in the programme.
