Karimnagar: Karimnagar police have arrested two persons for cheating people in the name of online money circulation. They cheated people by promising huge returns for investments by creating websites. Producing the accused before media persons here on Wednesday, Karimnagar Town ACP Tula Srinivasa Rao said that Dhoutam Shiva Kumar (39), Hyderabad and Kothuru Anand of Choppadandi were arrested. In 2018, Shiva Kumar developed an online application Welcome Adsapp and made it available for free download in the Google play store.

He released advertisements stating that anyone can invest for the development of applications above Rs 1,000 and promised one per cent interest daily till their amount was doubled. He collected about Rs 30 lakh from 20 persons. Similarly, he developed another website called Welcome Club in 2021 and lured the gullible people by promising free Goa trips along with free accommodation for just Rs 6,000. He informed the people to make membership of nine persons and they would get daily Rs 540 and monthly Rs 16,200.

In Karimnagar, he cheated 10 persons and collected Rs 5.2 lakhs and throughout the state a total of Rs 4.61 crore. More than 10 criminal cases were registered against Shiva Kumar in Chaitanyapuri police station in Hyderabad, Subedari police station in Hanamkonda, Jubilee hills police station, Hyderabad, Cheque bounce cases in Bengaluru and also in Manakondur police station in Karimnagar.

To cheat the people, he had also created more websites such as Shivam Marketing Services, Indradanassu Township India Private Limited, World Tours, Crypto Future World, Welcome Game Zone, Welcome Online Shoppe and others.
