Karimnagar: Officer on Special Duty at the Chief Minister’s Office Priyanka Varghese appreciated Karimnagar police for developing Miyawaki forest and other trees as part of Haritha Haram programme in Karimangar City Police Training Center. Varghese visited PTC on Saturday and inspected Miyawaki phase-I and II, as well as Navagraha, Raasi, Nakshatra vanams and fish tanks being developed as part of a new project.
Speaking on the occasion, she opined that except Karimnagar, no police in the State were involved in such kind of activity. The initiative taken by the local police to protect the environment was appreciable.
Stating that PTC looked like a place of biodiversity, she opined that the training centre would help to give training to newly appointed staff of forest and horticulture departments. She enquired about difficulties faced in developing Miyawaki phase-I and II.
It was possible to develop more such kinds of places if the employees of all government departments were worked with unity.
Karimnagar police, who were developing the new project for environmentalists and bird lovers, were eligible for national level environment award.
Explaining about the development of Miyawaki forest and other projects in PTC to OSD through photo exhibition, Commissioner of Police, Kamalasan Reddy informed how the infertile land was developed as fertile land to grow trees. Collector K Shashanka, Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner Valluru Kranthi, Additional DCPs S Srinivas (law and order) and G Chandramohan, Trainee IAS officer Ankith, ACP Shivabhaskar and others were present.
