Hyderabad: A group of persons with disabilities staged a protest in front of the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, demanding that the State government address their long-pending welfare demands.

The protesters sought employment opportunities, double-bedroom houses, free bus travel and other welfare measures. They said better livelihood opportunities, housing and accessible public transport were essential for ensuring a dignified life for persons with disabilities.

Police personnel intervened and took the protesters into custody. They were shifted from the spot in police vehicles.
