Karimnagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau sleuths trapped ASI Chandra Reddy while he was accepting a bribe from a person in Gangadhara police station on Friday.
According to ACB police, Kotha Bheeraiah, a resident of Lingampalli of Gangadhara mandal, lodged a complaint against another villager Jurru Rajaiah with Gangadhara police on June 10.
Bheeraiah, in his complaint, said he received a bleeding injury in an attack by Rajaiah. Chandra Reddy, who registered the case, went to Rajaiah’s house and demanded Rs 15,000 bribe. He warned him that he would be put behind bars if he failed to pay the amount.
Unable to pay the bribe, Rajaiah approached the ACB, who hatched a plan and trapped the ASI while he was accepting the bribe in the police station.
