Karthika Masam rush: Devotees throng Vemulawada shrine
It being the first Monday in Karthika Masam, a huge number of pilgrims thronged the shrine.

Rajanna Sircilla: Scores of devotees thronged the Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple, Vemulawada, on the occasion of the first Monday of Karthika Masam.
Monday is said to be the favourite day for Lord Shiva. Moreover, it being the first Monday in Karthika Masam, a huge number of pilgrims thronged the shrine. Devotees were seen performing special pujas to Usiri (Amla) trees by lighting lamps on the temple premises early in the morning. Later, they had darshan of the presiding deity.
The temple premises and queue lines were jam-packed with devotees as scores of the people thronged the shrine from different parts of the State as well as from the adjacent States. Pilgrims were seen standing in serpentine queues since it took almost four hours to have darshan of Lord Siva.
On the occasion, priests performed special pujas in the shrine. According to temple officials, 60,256 devotees had darshan of the presiding deity on Sunday.
