Hyderabad: BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of deliberately stoking regional tensions through political conspiracies, damaging Hyderabad’s brand image for the benefit of Amaravathi. He said the Congress leadership is neglecting the city’s development and prioritising political vendettas.

“Revanth Reddy is conspiring to damage Hyderabad’s brand image to benefit Amaravathi under Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s direction. The demolition of properties in the name of protection of water bodies using HYDRAA is also part of this conspiracy,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, Kaushik Reddy clarified that he respected the people of Andhra Pradesh and his remarks against Serlingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi were being twisted, to showcase as if he was speaking against all the Andhra natives living in Telangana. He reminded that during former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s tenure, none from Andhra Pradesh were harmed in past ten years and an inclusive approach was adopted.

“By twisting my statements personally made against MLA Arekapudi Gandhi, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Ministers have degraded their stature. From henceforth, neither BRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao nor former Ministers KT Rama Rao and T Harish Rao will respond to Revanth Reddy. I am more than enough for him,” he said.

The Huzurabad MLA said BRS leaders and activists were arrested across Telangana at the behest of the Chief Minister. He stated that MLA Gandhi and his followers attacked him as per the directions of the Chief Minister. “The people of Serilingampally and Telangana must question Gandhi, if they voted for him to spread fear,” he said.

He stated that he would not get intimidated by the ruling Congress and vowed to continue his fight until the BRS comes to power again in the State.

Kaushik Reddy dared the BRS MLAs who defected to the Congress, to resign and face by-elections. He warned Congress leaders that if they fail to fulfill their promises, especially the six guarantees, they will face public backlash. “The people of Telangana are watching and won’t tolerate betrayal,” he added.
