Karimnagar: Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy staged a dharna at Ambedkar Chowk in Huzurabad town, along with the body of Class X student Vanam Srivarsha, who died by suicide at Vangara gurukulam school on Friday morning. After completion of postmortem in Huzurabad area hospital, Kaushik Reddy reached Ambedkar Chowk in a rally by carrying Srivarsha’s body and staged a dharna in protest against the State government’s negligence in maintaining gurukulam schools.

The MLA came down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for neglecting gurukulam schools. Students studying in residential schools were ending their lives due to negligence of officials. He demanded that the State government provide Rs 1 crore ex gratia to the family members of the girl, conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the death and take serious action against those responsible.
