Kavitha demands Congress govt to procure rain-soaked crop at minimum support price

Hyderabad: BRS MLC K Kavitha lashed at the Congress government for delaying paddy procurement and neglecting farmers whose harvested paddy was damaged by untimely rains. She demanded that the government take immediate steps to procure rain-soaked crop at minimum support price without further delay.
In a statement, Kavitha said the government’s failure to procure the crop on time has left lakhs of farmers in distress. She remarked that the State cannot prosper, if farmers suffer.
She demanded that every affected farmer be supported and warned that continued inaction would only trigger the agrarian crisis across Telangana.
