KCR, CM Revanth condole demise of Gussadi maestro Kanaka Raju
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed deep grief over the passing of Gussadi dancer Padma Shri Kanaka Raju
Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy expressed shock over the passing away of prominent Gussadi dancer Padma Shri Kanaka Raju.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said Kanaka Raju was recognised as an exceptional artist for introducing Gussadi to the world and preserving the art and cultural tradition of Telangana.
The demise of the famous dancer was an irreparable loss to the folk arts, he said, recalling the invaluable services rendered by Kanaka Raju in the field of Gussadi dance through his performances and teachings.
Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao also expressed grief over the death of Kanaka Raju.
Chandrashekhar Rao said the demise of Kanaka Raju, who spent his life for the promotion of Gussadi dance, a cultural art form that became unique in the tribal way of life, was a great loss for the development of Telangana’s cultural existence.
Recalling that the previous BRS government recognized the efforts made by Kanaka Raju and honored him accordingly, the BRS president expressed his condolences to the bereaved family members of Kanaka Raju.
