Khammam: As many as 2,000 cheques under Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) were distributed to beneficiaries in Khammam Assembly constituency so far, informed Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar. The total worth of cheques distributed was around Rs 8.61 crore, the Minister said while speaking at a programme where CMRF cheques worth Rs 19.30 lakh were handed over to 32 beneficiaries at his camp office here on Saturday.
The Minister said care has been taken to ensure early approval and handing over of the cheques to people who applied for financial assistance under the CMRF. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was also giving priority to speedy clearance of CMRF applications to help the applicants.
“I am very happy to note that about 2,000 persons have been benefitted from the CMRF in Khammam constituency with the support from the Chief Minister”, Ajay Kumar noted. Later in the day, the minister along with Mayor P Neeraja, SUDA Chairman B Vijay Kumar and Municipal Commissioner Adarsh Surabhi inaugurated a walkway on the NSP Canal at LB Nagar in Khammam Municipal Corporation’s 8th division.
Ajay Kumar informed that an open gym and lighting were provided on the walkway, which was developed at Rs 1.52 crore. He also inaugurated a road and central lighting at Manchukonda village of Raghunathapalem mandal.
Speaking after inaugurating a basketball tournament at Pavilion Grounds in the city, the Minister said after the formation of Telangana, the State government has made great efforts to develop sports infrastructure in the State.
