Dubbak MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy distributed Chief Minister Relief Fund cheques worth Rs 34 lakh to 156 beneficiaries at his camp office in Siddipet.

The custodial death of Karle Rajesh, a Dalit youth from Telangana, has triggered political controversy. His family and MRPS leaders allege that police illegally detained and tortured him for five days to implicate former BRS MLA Bollam Mallaiah Yadav in a Chief Minister’s Relief Fund irregularities case.

BRS MLA Chintha Prabhakar distributed Rs 19.36 lakh worth of Chief Minister Relief Fund cheques to 82 beneficiaries in Sangareddy and Sadasivapet. He urged citizens to approach his office directly and criticised the Congress government for unfulfilled promises

The Jubilee Hills police arrested two persons for misusing 230 CMRF cheques meant for poor beneficiaries, using forged documents to deposit funds. The prime accused worked in a former minister’s office. Two more suspects are absconding. Rs 8.7 lakh was misappropriated.

KTR pointed out that distributing CMRF cheques to 26 villages using 25 vehicles and 100 police personnel for security is an unnecessary expenditure.

Addressing the gathering after distributing CMRF cheques worth Rs 54.50 lakh worth to 237 beneficiaries on Friday, Rao said that he was indeed too lucky to get an opportunity to help so many people in his constituency.

The amount was pooled from GITAM employees and one-day salary.

Director General of Police Jitender and other senior police officials presented to CM Revanth Redddy a cheque of Rs 11,06,83,571 as the contribution by the police department to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund (CMRF) on Wednesday.

Saying that the people of Telangana were watching everything patiently, he said the people would teach a lesson to the Congress for all their wrongdoings.

The case was registered after an official of CMRF wing of Revenue Department of the State government made a complaint.

The CM further directed the CMO officials to provide immediate medical assistance to the cancer patient. As per his instructions, Chief Minister’s OSD Vemula Srinivasulu spoke to the boy's family over the phone.

The arrested persons are P Ravi Nayak, J Naresh Kumar, Korlapati Vamshi, B Venkatesh Goud and Omkar.

Naresh, who was working in the office as a computer operator on an outsourcing basis, was also removed from the job and had no ties with the Siddipet MLA's office thereafter.

Prabhakar said the State government would always support the needy, and said the CMRF was a gift for the poor.
