Khammam cop Pilli Raju shines at police sports meet, finishes KGF Ultra marathon

Khammam police constable Pilli Raju has won three medals at the State Police Sports Meet 2026 and successfully completed the gruelling KGF Ultra Gold Run 70K marathon in Karnataka.

Khammam: A police constable of Khammam, Pilli Raju has won three medals at the State Police Sports Meet 2026 and successfully completed KGF Ultra Gold Run 70K marathon bringing laurels to Telangana police.

At the police sports meet held recently he won a gold medal in wushu, silver medal in wrestling and bronze medal in Kenken Silat. Commissioner of Police Sunil Dutt congratulated and appreciated him for bringing laurels to the police department with his outstanding achievements.

Raju finished the KGF Ultra Gold Run 70K Marathon held at Kolar Gold Fields (KGF), Karnataka. It is considered one of India’s toughest ultra-running events and Karnataka’s most unique heritage ultra marathon.

The race took place in 37 degree Celsius heat with approximately 2,375 feet of elevation gain. He overcame these challenging conditions with exceptional endurance, mental strength, and determination. He managed to handle both the events held in a span of six days in July.

In another proud achievement, Raju has been selected to represent the Telangana police at the All India Police Games in Wushu, bringing further honour to both the Khammam district and the Telangana police.

The policeman acknowledged that the constant encouragement and unwavering support of his family played a vital role in his sporting journey and their motivation has been one of the key factors behind his success.

Raju’s inspiring journey continues to motivate fellow police personnel, young aspiring athletes and the running community across Telangana, senior police officials noted.
