Khammam: The Dalit community in Chintakani mandal in the district was in jubilant mood with the State government releasing an amount of Rs 100 crore funds for the implementation of Dalit Bandhu Scheme in the mandal.
It might be noted that Chintakani was among the four mandals the government had chosen for the implementation of the scheme on a pilot project basis. Special Chief Secretary (Finance) K Ramakrishna Rao issued an order on Monday wherein Rs 50 crore each was released for the implementation of the scheme in Thirumalagiri mandal in Suryapet district, Charakonda mandal in Nagarkurnool district and Nizamsagar mandal in Kamareddy district along with Rs 100 crore for Chintakani mandal.
A thanksgiving meeting was organised at Chintakani mandal headquarters on Tuesday under the aegis of Zilla Parishad Chairman Lingala Kamalraj and the meeting was attended by TS Seeds Development Corporation Chairman Kondabala Koteshwar Rao.
Addressing the gathering, Kamalaraj thanked the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for selecting and allocating Rs 100 crore for Chintakani mandal in Madhira constituency under the Dalit Bandhu scheme.
He said the Chief Minister was a dalit emancipator and striving for their development. The people of Madhira constituency would be indebted to Chandrashekhar Rao for releasing Rs 100 crore in the shortest possible time.
Every eligible dalit in Chintakani mandal would be given financial support under the scheme, which aims to empower the dalit community and help the community members to grow financially, the ZP Chairman noted.
On the occasion Kamalraj, Koteshwar Rao and the local TRS leaders performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to the Chief Minister’s portrait as a mark of thanksgiving. Meanwhile Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar also thanked the Chief Minister for the release of funds for Dalit Bandhu scheme.
