Khammam mechanic’s body presents cash rewards to meritorious SSC students

Khammam: The Khammam Municipal Corporation Two-Wheeler Mechanics’ Union awarded cash incentives to the children of two-wheeler mechanics who secured high marks in the SSC examinations.
At a programme held here, Traffic SI Ravi presented cash cheques worth Rs 5,000 each to six students — Shaik Afrid, Golusu Harsha Vardhan, Ambati Jaswanth, Bojedla Charan, Linganaboyina Niharika and Yesu Varshitha — who secured more than 500 marks.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravi congratulated the students and wished them success in reaching greater heights. He commended the union for its services and the unity displayed by the mechanics.
Association president Vangala Kondala Rao said the union had earlier distributed Rs 1.30 lakh, at Rs 5,000 each, to 26 students and has now awarded Rs 30,000 to six more students, taking the total amount distributed to SSC students to Rs 1.60 lakh.
He assured that the union stands by all its member mechanics and urged every mechanic to become a member.
Union members Appa Rao, Hamid, Srinu, Bullet Anwar, Murali, Nageswara Rao, Lalayya, Abbas, Seshu, Pandu and Subhani were present.
