Khammam Municipal Corporation to have 60 municipal wards
The number of municipal divisions was increased to 60 from the existing 50 divisions in the KMC enabling 10 more corporators to get elected to the municipal council
Khammam: The draft of delimitation of wards in Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) has been released by the officials.
The number of municipal divisions was increased to 60 from the existing 50 divisions in the KMC enabling 10 more corporators to get elected to the municipal council. The delimitation was carried out based on the 2011 census and each ward consists of around 5000 voters, officials said.
Of the 60 wards, three wards fall under Palair Assembly segment while the remaining 57 wards are in Khammam Assembly constituency. People can present their objections and suggestions by March 23 on the delimitation of the wards, the officials added.
