Khammam: District Collector VP Gautham directed the officials to speed up the construction works of integrated collectorate and double bedroom houses in Khammam.

He was speaking after inspecting double bedroom house site at Tekulapalli and the collectorate site at Venkatayapalem near Khammam on Thursday.  It might be noted that a large housing complex named ‘KCR Towers’ consisting of 52 blocks with around 1200 houses was being developed at Tekulapalli.

MAUD Minister K T Rama Rao inaugurated 1,000 houses whose construction was completed at the complex in April. The construction of remaining houses was underway. The Collector said the house’s construction was nearing completion and told officials to complete pending works at the earliest.

Similarly, the works related to the collectorate complex should be expedited. Additional labour force has to be engaged to speed up the works, Gautham told the contractors and engineering officials. Any delay in the works would be dealt with seriously, he warned.

District Revenue Officer, Sirisha, DRO Ravindranath and others accompanied the Collector.

The Collector during a meeting held on Wednesday evening to discuss measures to prevent viral diseases such as dengue, told health officials to lay focus on the villages and areas in towns where dengue cases were reported in high numbers.

He directed ASHAs and MEPMA resource persons to make visits to houses creating awareness on ‘dry-day’ to avoid water stagnation in the houses. Similarly scrap shops and tyre puncture shops in villages and towns have to be geo-tagged in order to monitor them.

Referring to protection of government lands, Gautham said all the tahsildars should possess detailed information of government lands in their jurisdiction and they should strive to protect the lands from land grabbers.

The Collector told revenue officials to speed up the land acquisition process for Khammam-Devarapalli Greenfield highway and for Sitarama project works in the district.
