Khammam: Demanding to review intermediate exam results, the activists of PDSU have laid siege to the Board of Intermediate district office here on Friday. PDSU district president N Azad and secretary V Venkatesh complained that the first year intermediate exam results have been forcing many students to end their lives. It was not correct to fail the students without running classes in a proper manner, they said.
They alleged that the results were favourable to corporate educational institutions while those studied in government colleges were failed by the board. Action against those responsible for the alleged mismanagement of the intermediate education must be taken.
Azad and Venkatesh noted that the intermediate results were part of a plot to destroy government junior colleges, deprive poor students of education and ruin their lives. They demanded the government to declare every student who appeared for the examinations as passed.
There were many vacant lecturer posts and the government should fill up the posts immediately. The government should support the families of students who have committed suicide due to mental anguish in the wake of the intermediate results, they demanded. The union district vice president Mastan activists Laxman, Vinay, Karthik, Shiva Rakesh, Satish, Ravi Teja, Karun and Laxman were present on the occasion.
