Khammam: The health condition of Gaddam Venu Kumar, an unemployed youth from New Lakshmipuram village in Mudigonda mandal, who attempted suicide last Saturday, is said to be critical but improving.
It may be recalled that the youth, an MSc graduate engaged in an outsourcing job in Mission Bhagiratha, consumed rat poison along with sleeping pills at his workplace in an attempt to end his life, stating that he was depressed over the delay in issuing job notifications by the Congress government.
Venu Kumar, who is being treated at a private hospital in Khammam, was responding to the treatment and there has been an improvement in his health condition, according to his family members. The youth was being attended to by his father, Bhadraiah, and others at the hospital.
His suicide attempt and the three-page suicide note he left addressing the State government have created a stir in political circles in the State. Several political parties, including BRS, came down heavily on the Revanth Reddy government for failing to deliver election promises such as issuing a job calendar and regular job notifications.
BRS leaders Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Nama Nageswara Rao, Tata Madhusudhan, Gundala Krishna and others recently visited Venu Kumar and extended support to him, boosting his morale.
