Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday countered Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s warning of launching an action plan after June 15 on paddy procurement and other issues. He asserted that the Centre had sanctioned projects worth Rs 28,000 crore for Telangana this month.
Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Sunday hit back at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his warning of launching an action plan after June 15 on paddy procurement and other issues.
He had accused the Union Minister of failing to safeguard Telangana’s interests and warned that he would not be able to move freely in the State. Responding to the Chief Minister’s criticism, Kishan Reddy said he was not intimidated by such statements.
“People are aware of my contribution to the State. I do not need a certificate from Revanth Reddy,” Kishan Reddy said while speaking to media persons.
The Union Minister said the Centre had sanctioned projects and funds worth Rs. 28,000 crore to Telangana this month, highlighting the Union government’s support to the State.
Referring to Revanth Reddy’s remarks about making Congress MP Rahul Gandhi the next Prime Minister, Kishan Reddy said the Congress leader’s aspirations would not be realised.
He also accused the Congress government of failing to fulfil promises made to the people even after two-and-a-half years in office. “Just as Congress has performed poorly in several other States, it will face a similar fate in Telangana,” Kishan Reddy said.
