Warangal: A team of students and faculty members of final year B.Tech students of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE) from Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal (KITSW), visited Gangadevipally, the model village in Geesugonda in the district on Sunday.
The visit was part of rural technology and community development course, and the aim of this technical visit was to inculcate and implement community-based development in rural areas. “It will help the students gain practical knowledge in real pockets and help them invent new things which would be beneficial to rural folks,” said KITS Principal Prof K Ashoka Reddy.
Head, EEE department, Prof C Venkatesh said that the outcome of this study tour was to analyse community-based development in Gangadevipally village through the various project being implemented at the village with the active participation of the women members of the village and other people.
“Our team has studied the electrical equipment sued in street lights using the solar panels, advanced technology and methods used in modern agriculture techniques like IoT and drip irrigation. The students have also interacted with 33 community development groups under the leadership of village Sarpanch Gonne Mallaiah at the village as a part of the tour,” Venkatesh added.
EEE department faculty incharges C Pavan Kumar, G. Sunil Kumar, student team representatives, P Krishna Vardhan, Ayesha Nousheen, P Kishore, M Pranay Bhaskar and 20 others visited the model village.
