The Bench was dealing with a batch of 10 cases pertaining to content appeals which challenged the imprisonment orders against the authorities and also about 90 other cases which challenged the acquisition proceedings. Representing a few petitioners, counsel CH Ravi Kumar said State-level monitoring committee, according to the new act, is not functioning.
Additional Advocate General Ramchandra Rao on the other hand said the petitioners have taken better packages under GO 123 and are now seeking compensation under the new package. The Bench then stated it would hear all the matters at length on December 23. It also asked the government to file counters in all cases before the next date of hearing.
