Hyderabad: Former Telangana Digital Media director Konatham Dileep has written to Director General of Police B Shivdhar Reddy seeking the return of his passport, which has been held by the police for the last eight months.
In a representation addressed to the DGP and released to the media, Dileep stated that his passport was taken by the Khanapur Circle Inspector at the Hyderabad airport at the time of his arrest on June 10, 2025, in connection with a politically-motivated false case. He said even after eight months, the passport has neither been produced before a court nor returned to him.
Calling the continued retention of his passport unlawful, he urged the DGP to personally intervene and ensure its immediate release. He argued that withholding the passport without due legal process violated established procedure apart from affecting his personal and professional commitments. The present Congress government had initiated multiple false cases against him as part of political vendetta and holding his passport was part of this harassment, he added.
