Hyderabad: BRS leaders pledged to strengthen the cadre at the grassroots and ensure a landslide victory for the party in the upcoming local body elections in Banswada constituency. They met the party working president KT Rama Rao in Hyderabad on Tuesday, as part of efforts to consolidate its hold over the Banswada constituency.
At the meeting, leaders from Banswada accused defected MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy of betraying the people’s mandate and deserting the party for selfish gains. They asserted that he now stands isolated in the constituency, while the party continues to thrive in every village with the backing of dedicated workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rao advised the leaders to work collectively, emphasising that the party’s strength lies in unity and people’s trust. He urged them to carry forward every initiative of the party in the past 20 months and convert grassroots support into a landslide victory in local body elections. He credited the party workers for keeping Banswada a stronghold despite political defections.
Former Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, senior leader Anji Reddy, Zubair, Nayini Padma and other leaders from the constituency were present.
