Hyderabad: Coming down heavily on Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, BRS working president KT Rama Rao dared him to prove the phone-tapping allegations, if there is even an iota of truth. He declared plans to drag Sanjay to court if the latter fails to issue a public apology within the next 48 hours.
“I will be serving a formal legal notice and if you don’t retract your statements and issue a public apology within the next 48 hours, I will drag you to the court of Law,” he warned Sanjay, who made derogatory remarks against Rama Rao, after deposing before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing into the alleged phone-tapping by the previous BRS government.
In a strong rebuttal, Rama Rao said despite being a Union Minister of State for Home, Sanjay lacks basic common sense and understanding of intelligence operations. He said the BJP leader had crossed a line with his “cheap and third-rate statements” which marked a new low. “In his desperation for political relevance, he has resorted to this cheap drama on the streets,” he remarked.
In a pointed jibe, he said, “If only working as a responsible Minister was as easy as carrying the chappals of Delhi bosses.”
