KTR demands immediate release of fee reimbursement arrears
BRS working president KT Rama Rao demanded the immediate release of arrears amounting to over Rs.650 crore to private degree and PG college managements.
Hyderabad: Questioning the inordinate delay in fee reimbursement to private educational institutions in the State, BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday demanded the immediate release of arrears amounting to over Rs.650 crore to private degree and PG college managements in the State. He said it would benefit nearly 12 lakh students dependent on private degree and PG colleges.
During a press meet at Telangana Bhavan, the Telangana Private Degree and PG Colleges Management Association met Rama Rao and submitted a memorandum urging his intervention and support in the issue. The association highlighted that the government’s delay in releasing Rs.650 crore has left colleges unable to pay building rents and staff salaries. They emphasised that the immediate release of these funds would significantly alleviate their problems and benefit the students.
Rama Rao assured the association that he would pressure the State government to release the arrears, even if it meant taking stringent measures. He criticised the government for not addressing the issues in earnest. He wanted the government to stop blaming previous administrations for the pending arrears. Rama Rao reminded that the BRS government had cleared the fee reimbursement arrears left by the previous government and promised to hold the government accountable for paying the dues to private degree and PG colleges.
Association president Bojja Suryanarayana Reddy, State general secretary Yada Ramakrishna and others were present.
